Reasons to Choose Clear Aligners

Clear aligners straighten teeth without metal brackets. Here's what they are, how they feel and how long treatment takes.

Reasons to Choose Clear Aligners

What are clear aligners?

Clear aligner therapy is an orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth with a series of custom-made, transparent trays instead of metal braces. Each set gently moves your teeth a little closer to their ideal position.

Why patients choose them

  • Nearly invisible. There are no metal brackets to distract from your smile.

  • Removable. Take them out to eat, brush and floss.

  • Comfortable. Smooth plastic trays, with no wires to poke your cheeks.

  • For teens and adults. They can correct gaps, crowding, overbites, underbites, open bites and crossbites.

What are they made of?

The trays are made from a BPA-free plastic that's shaped to fit your teeth snugly.

What's the process?

It starts with an exam and x-rays to see if clear aligners are the best option for you. Next, we take impressions, models and photographs of your teeth to plan your treatment and have your custom trays made. A 3D model can even show you how your teeth will move over time.

What's it like to wear them?

You'll wear your aligners all day, every day, taking them out only for short periods to eat and clean your teeth. You may feel some pressure for a day or two with each new set, which is a sign they're working.

How long does treatment take?

A typical treatment takes about a year, though it varies with each person's age and needs. Some patients see changes in as little as 12 weeks. We'll give you a personal timeline once we've examined your teeth.
