What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring a photo ID, your dental insurance card if you have one, and a list of any medications you take. If you've had x-rays at another office recently, ask them to send those over so we don't repeat them. You can also save time by completing your forms online before you arrive. Patient forms

Cost, insurance & financing

Do you accept my dental insurance?

We work with most PPO dental insurance plans. Because every plan covers things a little differently, the easiest way to know what's included is to call us at 561-316-4260 with your insurance details before your visit and we'll check your benefits for you. Insurance and payment options

What if I don't have dental insurance?

Our in-house dental plan is $475 a year ($450 for a second family member, $425 for each additional). It covers your exams, two cleanings and x-rays at 100%, and gives you 20% off other treatment, with no deductible, no pre-authorization and no waiting periods. Financing is also available.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes. CareCredit financing lets you spread the cost of treatment over monthly payments, and our in-house dental plan is a simple yearly option for patients without insurance. We'll go over the choices with you before any treatment starts. Financing · In-house dental plan

How much will my treatment cost?

It depends on what your teeth need and what your insurance covers, so we don't quote prices before we've seen you. After your exam we'll walk you through your options and give you a clear written estimate before any treatment begins, so there are no surprises. Payment options

Emergency care

Do you offer emergency appointments?

We don't have a 24-hour line, but we offer same-day and next-day appointments for dental emergencies. Call us first so we can get ready for you. Emergency care

What counts as a dental emergency?

A knocked-out or badly broken tooth, a toothache that keeps you up at night, swelling in your face or gums, bleeding that won't stop, or a lost crown or filling that's causing pain. If you're not sure, call us at 561-316-4260; we'd rather see you early than let a small problem grow. For trouble breathing or swallowing, or a serious injury, go to the emergency room first. Emergency dental care

How much does an emergency visit cost?

New patients can take advantage of our $79 New Patient Emergency Special, which includes a limited emergency exam (D0140) and the x-ray needed to diagnose the problem (D0220). Any treatment beyond that depends on what we find and your insurance, and we'll explain your options and costs before we start. Emergency dental care

What is a D0140 code?

D0140 is the standard dental code for a "limited oral evaluation" — a focused exam of the specific tooth or area that's bothering you (pain, swelling, or an injury), rather than a full routine checkup. It's the exam most patients get on an emergency visit.

What is a D0220 code?

D0220 is the code for the first periapical X-ray taken during a visit — a single detailed X-ray of one tooth, from crown to root, along with the surrounding bone. It helps the dentist see what's happening under the surface (infection, a crack, bone loss) before recommending treatment.

Comfort & nerves

I'm nervous about the dentist. Can you help?

Absolutely. Inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide) is available for any appointment, we can book longer visits, and our 3D imaging avoids uncomfortable bitewing x-rays. Anxiety-free care

Does getting a filling or crown hurt?

It shouldn't. We numb the area thoroughly before we begin, and most patients feel some pressure rather than pain. If you're anxious, nitrous oxide is available for any appointment. Mild sensitivity for a few days afterward is normal and fades on its own. Anxiety-free dentistry

I haven't been to the dentist in years. Will I be judged?

Not at all. Many of our patients come to us after a long gap, and our only goal is to help you move forward comfortably. We'll start with a gentle, thorough exam, explain what we find in plain language, and build a plan at a pace that feels right for you. Exams and cleanings

Everyday dental health

How often should I have a checkup and cleaning?

At least twice a year for most people. Some patients, especially those with gum disease, benefit from more frequent visits. Your visit includes an exam, x-rays when needed, an oral cancer screening, and a professional cleaning.

How often should I brush and floss?

Brush at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and floss once a day. Flossing reaches between teeth and under the gumline where a toothbrush can't. See our brushing and flossing guide.

What causes bad breath, and what can I do?

Common causes include certain foods, dry mouth, tobacco, skipped meals, gum disease and cavities. Good daily brushing and flossing, drinking plenty of water and regular checkups usually help. If it lingers, let us take a look.

How can I tell if I have gum disease?

Watch for red, puffy or bleeding gums, bad breath that won't go away, receding gums, new spaces between teeth or loose teeth. Learn about gum disease care.

Cosmetic & restorative treatments

What can I do about stained or yellow teeth?

Professional whitening is safe and effective for most stains. For deeper stains or chipped teeth, veneers may be a better fit. Whitening · Veneers

Does teeth whitening hurt, and how long does it last?

Dentist-supervised whitening is safe for your enamel. Some people notice temporary sensitivity during treatment, which usually settles within a day or two, and our custom-fit trays keep the gel where it belongs. Results can last for years with good home care and the occasional touch-up. Professional teeth whitening

What are clear aligners, and are they right for me?

Clear aligners are a series of nearly invisible, removable trays that gradually move your teeth into place without brackets or wires. They work well for crowding, gaps and many bite concerns in teens and adults, and you can take them out to eat and brush. A quick consultation and digital scan will tell us whether they're a good fit for you. Clear aligners

How long do dental implants last?

With good home care and regular checkups, the implant itself can last for decades, often a lifetime. The crown on top may need replacing after many years of normal wear. We plan every implant with 3D imaging so it's placed precisely and heals predictably. Dental implants

How long do porcelain veneers last?

Porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years, and often longer, with good care. Daily brushing and flossing, regular checkups, not using your teeth as tools, and wearing a night guard if you grind all help them stay beautiful. Porcelain veneers

What is a next-day crown, and how is it different from a traditional crown?

A traditional crown usually means messy impressions, a temporary crown and a wait of two weeks or more. We take a quick digital scan of your tooth instead, and your custom tooth-colored crown can be ready in as little as 24 hours, so you spend less time in a temporary and fewer trips to the office. Next-day crowns

Can you replace old, dark or silver fillings?

Yes. Depending on the tooth, we can use tooth-colored fillings, crowns, inlays or onlays, or veneers for a natural look.

After your visit

Is it normal for my gums to be sore after a deep cleaning?

Yes. Mild tenderness, a little bleeding and some sensitivity to hot and cold for a few days are normal after a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing). Warm salt-water rinses, gentle brushing and an over-the-counter pain reliever usually take care of it. If the discomfort is getting worse instead of better after a few days, give us a call. Gum disease treatment

What can I eat after a filling or crown?

Wait until the numbness wears off before eating so you don't accidentally bite your cheek or tongue. For the first day, stick to soft foods and avoid anything very hot, sticky or hard. If you're wearing a temporary crown, chew on the other side and skip sticky foods like caramel or gum until your permanent crown is in place.

How long will I be numb after my appointment?

Usually two to four hours, depending on the procedure and how much anesthetic was used. Until feeling returns, avoid hot drinks and chewing, and keep an eye on children so they don't bite their lip or cheek. If numbness lasts well beyond a day, call us so we can check in.
