Nearly invisible, removable trays gently move your teeth into place, and you can watch your smile improve along the way.
Clear aligners move teeth the same way braces do, with gentle, steady pressure, but without brackets and wires.
Because the trays come out, there are no food rules. Eat what you like, then brush and pop them back in. Aligners can also help with some bite problems, not just crooked teeth.
An exam, x-rays and impressions show us exactly how your teeth need to move.
We map out every step and have your series of trays made just for you.
Wear your trays 20 to 22 hours a day and switch sets about every two weeks.
We check your progress about every six weeks until your smile is finished.
Most people feel mild pressure for a day or two with each new set of trays. That's a sign they're working, and it fades quickly.
Take them out to eat or drink anything other than water, then brush before putting them back. That's why there are no food restrictions.
It depends on how much your teeth need to move. After your consultation you'll get a written plan with the full cost, and we offer membership savings and financing.
Clear aligners have made straightening teeth far more comfortable and discreet than the braces many of us remember. If you've wondered whether they'd work for you, here's an honest look at how aligners move teeth, what daily life with them is really like, and what to expect from start to finish.
Aligners are a series of thin, transparent trays custom-made from a digital scan of your teeth. Each tray is designed to shift your teeth a small, precise amount. You wear one set for about a week or two, then move to the next, and over months your teeth gradually travel into their planned positions. Because the plan is mapped digitally before you begin, you can see a preview of your expected result before your first tray is ever made.
Teens and adults with mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or bite issues tend to do very well. Aligners are also a great option for people who had braces years ago and have noticed some shifting since. More complex bite problems sometimes need a different approach, and we'll be upfront about that. Healthy teeth and gums are the starting point, so we'll address any cavities or gum concerns first.
The trays should be worn about twenty to twenty-two hours a day, coming out only to eat, drink anything other than water, and brush. Most patients find them comfortable after the first couple of days with each new tray, when a little pressure is normal. Because they're removable, you can eat whatever you like and keep your brushing and flossing routine exactly as it is. Visits to our Jupiter office are spaced out, so treatment fits easily into a busy schedule.
It depends on how far your teeth need to move. Minor adjustments can take just a few months, while more involved cases may run a year or longer. Wearing your trays consistently is the single biggest factor in staying on schedule. Once you're finished, a retainer keeps your new smile in place, and we'll show you exactly how and when to wear it.
Pricing depends on the length and complexity of your treatment, so we don't quote a flat number. Some dental plans include orthodontic benefits that apply to aligners, and we're happy to check yours. After your consultation, we'll give you a personalized quote and walk through our financing options, as well as our in-house dental plan for patients without insurance.
If crowded or shifted teeth bother you, or if food traps and hard-to-clean spots are affecting your gum health, it's a good time to talk. A consultation includes a scan and a clear picture of what aligners could do for you. Many patients tell us they wish they'd asked sooner.
