What to do right now

Simple steps that protect your tooth until we can see you.

01

Call us first

Tell us what happened. We'll find the earliest time and have everything ready when you arrive.

02

Knocked-out tooth

Hold it by the top, not the root. Rinse gently, keep it in milk, and come in as fast as you can. Time matters most here.

03

Broken tooth or lost crown

Rinse with warm water, save any pieces, and use a cold compress on your cheek. Avoid chewing on that side.

04

Toothache

Rinse with warm salt water and floss gently to clear trapped food. Never put aspirin directly on the gum.

How we help

Relief, often in one visit

Our Jupiter office has digital x-rays and 3D imaging on site, so we can see what's wrong right away instead of sending you somewhere else.

Many problems can be fixed the same week, and often in the same visit, from a broken tooth to a painful tooth that needs to come out. We'll always explain your options and costs before we start.

Understanding Emergency Dental Care

Dental emergencies rarely happen at a convenient time, and it's not always obvious what counts as one. Here's a practical guide to recognizing a true emergency, what to do in the first few minutes, what to expect when you come in, and how we keep same-day and next-day appointments available for patients in Jupiter.

What counts as a dental emergency?

Anything involving severe pain, bleeding that won't stop, swelling in your face or jaw, or a tooth that's been knocked out, broken, or knocked loose. A lost crown or filling, a cracked tooth, or an abscess that's causing pain and swelling also qualify. If you're unsure, call us. We'd much rather talk you through it than have you wait and risk a bigger problem.

What happens at an emergency visit?

Our first job is to get you out of pain. We'll examine the area, take an x-ray if needed to see what's going on beneath the surface, and explain what we've found in plain language. Many problems, like a lost filling or a chipped tooth, can be handled the same day. More involved treatment, such as a root canal or crown, may be started right away and completed at a follow-up visit.

How quickly can you be seen?

We reserve time for same-day and next-day emergency appointments. When you call, let us know what's happening and we'll fit you in as quickly as possible, typically the same day for pain or trauma. New patients are welcome for emergency care; you don't need to be an existing patient to get help.

What does an emergency visit cost?

Our emergency special includes a limited exam (D0140) and one x-ray (D0220) for $79, which covers the diagnosis so you know exactly what's going on. Any treatment beyond that depends on what's needed and on your insurance, so we'll give you a personalized quote before doing anything further. You can also review our financing options and our in-house dental plan.

When should you call right away?

Don't wait out a toothache hoping it will pass. Pain is your body's signal that something needs attention, and infections can spread. If you have swelling, a fever with tooth pain, a knocked-out tooth, or a bleed that won't stop after twenty minutes of pressure, call now. For anything else that's worrying you, call anyway. We'll help you sort out what's urgent.

Don't wait it out

Pain is your body asking for help.

Small problems get bigger, and more expensive, when they wait. Call now and we'll get you comfortable as soon as possible.
